朱伟（b.1966）生于北京。先后就学于解放军艺术学院、北京电影学院、中国艺术研究院。最早一批得到国际艺术界认可的中国当代艺术家之一，朱伟的水墨画有一个强烈的个人主义的品质。总是能够以他自己独特的视角，悄悄变换一种集体无意识的观点。他自由地穿越童年梦幻与现实之间的界限，虽使用的是传统媒介，但他独辟蹊径而自成一体。自1993年起开始以中国水墨画在国际大型展览露面，在世界各地举办个人展览二十多次。先后出版七种不同版本的个人绘画专集，回顾专集。作品被国内外二十余家美术馆、博物馆收藏。
