An Edwardian Split Pearl Brooch with Diamond Mourning Pendant, the bow motif set throughout with split pearls in yellow claw settings, suspending a circular black enamel pendant initialled with the letter 'L' with a rose cut diamond border and a locket compartment to the reverse enclosing hair, measures 3.5cm by 3.1cm see illustration . The brooch is in good condition with wear commensurate with age. The pendant is detachable. They are a marriage and would not have originally been together. Last quarter of the 20th century. It fastens with a pin and revolver catch. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as gold and silver. Gross weight 17.0 grams. CR made 09.11.20.
