C. AD 618 and 907. Tang Dynasty. A pair of Tang Dynasty musicians ladies. Both mucicians are wearing a long flowing gowns with green skirts, creme bodices and sleeves and an orange shawl. Both ladies are delicately made up with red lip paint, blush, delicate arching brows and elaborate hairdos. Music as an art form reached its peak in China during the Tang Dynasty, which is now known as the golden age of Chinese music and dance. Indeed, during this time The Great Music Bureau (太樂署) was created as a means to train musicians and dancers for the imperial court.
