In 1941, he graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting at Shanghai Fine Arts Training School. He once acted as the president of National Academy of Painting (Shanghai), vice president of Xiling Society of Seal Arts, director of China Artists Association, etc. His masterpieces include Painted Skin, Beauty's Story, Kong Yiji, etc.
