Sevres style, late 19th century. Cobalt blue ground porcelain with gilt bronze mounts and handles, comprising two large covered vases and one centerpiece. With hand painted panels on either side of each piece, one landscape and the other a figural genre scene. With gilded foliate decorative details surrounding, ormolu figural handles and foliate rims. Interior of centerpiece is white with hand painted floral motifs. Each piece is raised on plinth form feet. Crossed L marks on underside of both vase covers, Sevres style. Painted figural group on all three is signed Poitevin. H. of vase to acorn form finial: 73.5 cm (29 in.) H. of centerpiece (not including handles): 45.5 cm (18 in.) W. of centerpiece (with handles): 56 cm (22 in.) Provenance: From Chelster Hall Oakville, Ontario by order of the Estate Trustee.
