Black lacquer three-drawer desk with rectangular top faced with gilt-tooled black leather. Ormolu mounts at edge. Rounded sides embellished with panels of Chinese lacquer depicting landscapes, figures, birds, and butterflies. Supported on four square, tapering, cabriole legs, overlaid with bronze gilt mounts and terminating in ormolu sabots. Pierced and foliate bronze gilt handles and escutcheons. French, 18th C.
