A substantial iron axehead with broad pointed blade with chamfered edge, D-shaped socket with remains of wooden shaft; three shield-shaped maker's marks to the neck, punched pellets to the rear edge of the blade and above the maker's marks. 600 grams, 25.5cm (10"). Property of a European collector; acquired in 2009; previously in a Belgian collection since the 1980s.
