A QUEEN ANNE SCOTTISH SILVER SUGAR CASTER, by Walter Scott, Edinburgh 1707, assay mark for James Penman, pear-shaped, the domed cover with acorn-form finial above a pattern pierced and engraved to depict scrolling foliage, the body engraved with the letter 'M', raised on a stepped circular foot. 16cm high, 7 troy ounces Note: An example by this maker exists in the collection of Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, accession number 1987.57a-b.
