A VICTORIAN SILVER-MOUNTED CUT-GLASS CLARET JUG, by Plante & Co, Birmingham 1896, the plain silver mount with flat hinged lid with knot and loop thumbpiece, the tapering downswept handle continuing to a silver foot rim, the barrel-shaped glass body with panel-cut neck above hobnail cutting. 23cm high The absence of a Condition Report does not imply that a lot is without imperfections. Cover with lion passant and date letter. Hinge in good order and sits flat. Some minor flea bites to the cutting. In generally good condition commensurate with age and use. No visible cracks. There are some small flea bites to cut edges of glass but nothing more than one would expect.
