Description

天然英石，石色湛黑，透出青韵，色泽莹润。英石自宋代以来即为文房清供、盆景与园林迭山最喜用石之一，深受文人喜爱，然以道远清贵，购之颇艰，大者尤不易得，甚为珍奇。晚明文震亨（1585～1645）《长物志》：「英石，出英州倒生岩下，以锯取之，故底平起峰，高有至三尺及寸余者。小斋之前，迭一小山，最为清贵，然道远不易致。」、「石以灵璧为上，英石次之。然二种品甚贵，购之颇艰，大者尤不易得，高逾数尺者，便属奇品。小者可置几案间，色如漆、声如玉者，最佳。横石以蜡地，而峰峦峭拔者为上。」
