刻铭：行简堂藏书光绪十有三年秋八月吴大瀓 说明 吴大澂（1835年—1902年），初名大淳，字止敬，又字清卿，号恒轩，晚号愙斋，江苏吴县人。清代官员、学者、金石学家、书画家，民族英雄。清同治七年（1868年）进士。善画山水、花卉，精于篆书。皆得力于金石鉴赏修养。箱只的主要用途是存放书籍、衣物，以长方形为宜，是家居中的重要陈设，彰显使用者的审美趣味。方角柜身，四腿直下，方足，箱盖与箱体以铜质合页相连接，其器形周正，工艺考究，古朴典雅，
