罐直口、短颈、丰肩、硕腹、圈足，通体饰以青花纹样，并以弦纹为界。肩部绘有一周几何样式之如意纹，腹部细描莲池鱼藻纹，所画鲤鱼姿态各异，极其醒目，并辅以莲荷、水草、浮萍为衬，近底处则绘有变形莲瓣纹。圈足内施白釉，且署双圈青花款式，楷书 “大明嘉靖年制” 双行六字款，字体秀雅，钴铀暗中带青。此罐是明嘉靖官窑青花瓷器中的名品，形体规整，胎体略微厚重，唯纹样繁复精妙，构图疏密有致。细部所绘鲤鱼鳞、鳍清晰，与周围的莲花、浮萍、水草相互交融，显得生动逼真。
