LIVERPOOL GIRL BAND, mid-20th century, a highly unusual group of sixteen, near life-size, folk art, cut out wooden, full-length hand-painted portraits of the 1950s-1960s girl band 'AR', largest 160cm high (16) These unusual lifelike portraits formed part of the interior display at the band's home base, the Leyland Club, where the band regularly played. The Beatles played a gig at the Leyland Club early in their career. These portraits were removed from the club during an interior refit at the club some years ago.
