STALAG 18A, an extraordinary and fascinating group of 105 photographs and ephemera relating to the German WW2 prisoner of war camp Stalag 18a, photographs of stage shows, highly elaborate parades in the camp including Roman chariots with horses and cross-dressing as nurses, ballerinas and Queen of the Camp, together with a framed portrait and bible ‘presented by The Ecumenical Commission for the Chaplaincy Service to Prisoners of War’ (105) Stalag XVIII-A was a World War II German Army (Wehrmacht) prisoner-of-war camp located to the south of the town of Wolfsberg, in the southern Austrian state of Carinthia, then a part of Nazi Germany.
