ABRAHAM MANIEVICH (UKRAINIAN 1883-1942) Street Scene, 1910-1914 oil on canvas 53 x 73.5 cm (21 x 29 in.) signed lower left RELATED LITERATURE For similar work, see Alan Pensler and Mimi Ginsberg, Abraham Manievich (New York: YIVO Institute for Jewish Research; Manchester: Hudson Hills Press, 2011), p. 76, pl. 17 (illustrated). We are grateful to Alan Pensler for confirming the authenticity of this painting. CONDITION Observed in frame, the painting appears in age-appropriate and stable condition. Overall craquelure. Limited flaking and scattered losses of paint, most notably to the perimeter. Pin holes visible to the upper and lower right corners. The canvas slightly loose, resulting in minor warping. Inspection under UV shows no apparent signs of restoration. N.B. All lots are sold in as-is condition at the time of sale. Please note that any condition statement regarding works of art is given as a courtesy to our clients in order to assist them in assessing the condition. The report is a genuine opinion held by Shapiro Auctions and should not be treated as a statement of fact. The absence of a condition report or a photograph does not preclude the absence of defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of any others. Shapiro Auctions, LLC., including its consultants and agents, shall have no responsibility for any error or omission.
