A George III gold and black enamel mourning ring, the gold band inscribed Lord St John Died 17 Dec 1805 Aged 47, hallmarked London 1805 with maker's mark BS, finger size M 1/2, 4.7g Henry Beauchamp St John, 13th Baron St John of Bletso (1758-1805), was the eldest son of John St John, the 12th Baron St John of Bletso, and his wife Susan Simond, daughter of Peter Simond, a Merchant of London. He succeeded his father as 13th Baron in 1767. He was admitted to St John's Collage, Cambridge in 1776, and was awarded his MA in 1778. St John died at 47 after a long illness, after having four daughters and no male heir, the Barony was passed to his brother, St Andrew St John.
