1970 Chateau de Sales Pomerol Stained and damaged labels OWC 12x75cl Tasted at Christmas 2020 . This was the Suprise highlight of the year. I purchased a mixed case of 1970 Bordeaux including Lagrange, Cos D' Estournel and Gruaud Larose, all very fine but were trumped by this relatively unknown but beautiful Pomerol. With all the components in place - elegant with a whiff of power. pure fruit entwined with mature Bordeaux notes of tobacco , spice , cassis and truffle. I loved being surprised and although i have had many great wines , i reserve a a spot for the empty bottles of my most memorable ones on my kitchen mantlepiece and this has taken it's rightful place - Mark Robertson, Dreweatts
