The 13.5" arched brass dial with engraved wheatear border, gilt four-season spandrels and silvered chapter ring enclosing a matted centre with subsidiary seconds dial and calendar aperture; the winding holes surrounded by applied numbered and engraved rings, the arch enclosing a silvered engraved rolling moon aperture with two whales forming the mouth fronting a substantial six pillar eight-day weight driven movement chiming the quarters on six bells and the hour on a larger bell 229cm high
