Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1812 A set of 12 oban yoko-e shunga prints from the album Ehon tsui no hinagata (Picture Book: Patterns of Couples), each depicting a love making scene, including a naked couple relaxing after love making on a sleeping-mat in summer, a married woman with her young lover beside a sewing set and a geisha and her client, all unsigned except for one signed Shishiki Ganko hitsu; together with a sheet of preface by Jokoken shujin (pseudonym for Keisai Eisen) and a sheet of double-sided text. The smallest: 24.5cm x 36.3cm (9 11/16in x 14 5/16in); the largest: 25.8cm x 37.5cm (9¾in x 14¾in) (14).
