是书为清乾隆刻本，本书为印刷史上首创摹图之法，开本阔大，收自周秦石鼓文，历朝各代名碑《曹全碑》《张迁碑》等近百种，碑版缩图均由褚峻手摹，存原石拓片一百余面，书品完整罕见。摹图之法的首创者是山东兖州人牛运震和山西郃阳拓片商人褚峻，在他们合作编撰的《金石图》一书中，摹图之法首次用于刊印金石著作。
