Early to mid 19th century painted miniature lover's eye brooch with 14kt gold and pearl surround. Inscribed verso, "Susan Rae. ob. 10th Feb. 1835 ae 47." Pearls vary in diameter between approx. 3.2mm and 3.4mm. Total approx. weight is 3.9 dwt (gross). From a Brooklyn, NY estate. Dimensions: brooch measures approx. 1.06" w x 0.80" h.
