Jug with slender foot and neck and flared spout. The shoulder, underside and base with carved gadrooning, the exterior surrounded by a frieze of scrolling leaves. Bronze mounts with traces of gold plating and polychrome enamel inlays. The handle in the form of a dragon, slightly loose. Height 12.4 cm.The grinding shop established by King Rudolf II at the Prague Castle was run by Ottavio Miseroni, a stone cutter who left Milan in 1588 after the emperor’s invitation. Two of his brothers also worked at the workshop. The emperor ennobled Ottavio Miseroni in 1608. After the latter's death in 1624 his son Dionysio took over the shop.Condition: II
