A PAIR OF CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE SQUARE-SECTION VASES, FANGGU. Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng period. Each with a flared neck and foot painted with scenes from Romance of the Western Chamber, the central section decorated to each side with landscapes within a pink diaper border, 26.5cm H. (2) 清雍正粉彩繪西廂記圖紋方觚一對 Literature: La Ceramique Chinoise sous les Ts'ing, by J.P. van Goidsenhoven, Brussels 1936, plate 91, cat. 1206-207 for a similar pair of vases.
