胡人戏狮瓷塑，身体罩施孔雀蓝，面部施酱釉。釉面莹润，诸色交融，垂流中变化万千，迷离迤逦，妙不可言。狮蹲卧，阔鼻大嘴，弓背卷尾，四肢强劲有力，脚踩绣球，姿态昂扬，其身躯健壮圆浑，挺拔有力，肌骨精准饱满，富丽威仪。整器做工精微，细节表情刻画为上乘，线条流畅，刻画到位，形象鲜活，动态十足。更难得的是，造像底座莲瓣造型，与15-16世纪佛造像莲座十分类似，更加印证了此件造像的具体年代。孔雀蓝釉又称为“法蓝”，是一种以铜为着色剂的低温釉，其唐宋时期已有制品，但将孔雀蓝与釉下青花相结合的技术直到明代宣德年间才逐渐成熟。由于其发色难以控制，有些发绿，称为孔雀绿釉或“法翠”，而色蓝者与釉下青花结合技艺更难，因而存世品较少。该钵发色纯正，是难得之物。
