此件玉山子为和阗白玉整雕而成，玉质略带石性，温润细腻，包浆浑厚，局部带微沁。整器随形而制，通体采用浮雕、镂雕、阴刻等手法雕饰山水人物图景。山间怪石嶙峋，苍松挺立，山顶雕一亭台，山腰有一位老作等待之态。山下另一老者骑马上山，旁有协童作伴，一副松山会友之图景。背面山下有小桥，一缕清泉缓缓流出，旁边立一小鹿。整件作品雕工粗犷，层次分明，立体感极强，具有诗意。是一件典型的明代晚期文房陈设佳品。
