A large painting of a processional scene, Udaipur, Rajasthan, India, circa 1750, opaque pigments heighted with gold and silver on paper, the ruler wearing resplendent red robes with a gold sash and pearls and mounted on an elephant with a highly decorated saddle cloth and wearing gold jewellery, groups of courtiers carrying spears, swords, guns and khinjals to the foreground, with two courtiers below carrying the ruler's hookah and a large white plume, on green ground, with printed stamp to reverse "The Curious House (regd) Udaipur, Serial Number 328", typed description to reverse. further inscriptions to reverse. 26 x 42cm Some paint loss to figures to right side of painting, crease approx. 4cm long to left side above the group of figures and above it blackish staining, some loss of paint to small areas around tips of spears
