A GEORGE I WALNUT, ELM, AND FRUITWOOD CROSSBANDED CHEST OF DRAWERS CIRCA 1720 96cm high, 100cm wide, 49cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips, splits and some losses. Some old repairs and lifting to veneers - see images. Backboards have age but possibly old replacements. They bear the expected losses and old filled worm holes. Later tape has been applied to help secure the joins between the backboards. Handles and escutcheons are replaced. Plugged holes are visible to drawer fronts for previous fixtures. Locks vary from one another. No key is present, all locks are open. Feet are replacements. Side panels have possibly been 'ironed', cleaned and re-coloured.
