A REGENCY BLUE JOHN TAZZA CIRCA 1820 The circular top with flared rim above the waisted circular tapering socle, on an Ashford black marble plinth 11cm high overall, 18.5cm diameter Many Blue John items are held in the collection at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire due to its proximity with the source of Blue John at Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern at Castleton. The Chatsworth Tazza, located in the Dining Room, is one of the largest Blue John pieces ever made and bears a close resemblance in form to the smaller tazza offered here. Condition Report: Various old neatly repaired cracks through the bowl and stem - see images. Some filler and adhesive visible to repairs. Old chips and 'nibbles'. Black marble plinth is possibly associated. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition. Condition Report Disclaimer
