Y A GEORGE IV MAHOGANY PEDESTAL DESK ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS, CIRCA 1830 With tooled leather inset top, the underside of the central drawer with pencil signature 'Thos Myers', the drawers with turned rosewood handles 74.5cm high, 136.5cm wide, 80cm deep The signature to the underside of the drawer likely to be that of Thomas Myers Senior, as cabinetmaker recorded as having worked for Gillows in the 1830's. A Davenport provenanced to Leighton Hall (the home of the Gillows family at that period) is also signed 'Thos. Myers' as well as two dressing tables made by Gillows for Parlington Hall, Yorkshire.
