BOYER (FRENCH, 19TH CENTURY), AN ORMOLU LAMP EMBLEMATIC OF SUMMER CIRCA 1880 Child depicted with sickle and basket of fruit, light fitment attached to reverse figure 56cm high, 70cm high overall including lamp fitment This particular symbolism with the sickle and fruit is uncommon but has been seen in 18th century Meissen figural groups of The Seasons. Condition Report: Scuffing, scratches and wear overall consistent with age. Surface layer worn with scratching, rubbing, ?cleaning liquid/chemical?, to reveal the underlying metal, stain applied in part to reverse. Some marks and knocks, including a dent to the base, some pitting verso. Casting rod circular line visible. Movement where figure meets marble base. Chips and scratches to base. With later added reeded metal rod screwed to the base and the back of the figure to convert this as a table lamp. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to images.
