A PAIR OF GILT METAL MOUNTED MARBLE DISHES IN THE MANNER OF EDGAR BRANDT, EARLY 20TH CENTURY Mounts stamped variously BL 52, 680 each 7.5cm high, 20cm wide, 9cm deep It is likely that the stone used in these dishes is Alabastro di Busca, quarried from Busca, Piedmont, Italy. Condition Report: Minor scuffing, scratches and wear overall consistent with age. Discolouration and slightly rough surface to the gilt metal, chips and nibbles to the marble including to the edges, some pitting. Probable cracks and repair including filler to both, but this could just be the veining, although it does not run along the line of other veining.
