A RARE WHITE PAINTED CAST IRON GARDEN SEAT IN THE COALBROOKDALE 'PASSION FLOWER' DESIGN LATE 19TH CENTURY Of curved, openwork outline and cast with foliage and flowerheads overall, the seat fitted with wooden slats, apparently unmarked 90cm high, 104cm wide Provenance: The Private Collection of Sir David and Lady Scholey This small form of bench, sometimes termed a 'love seat', is relatively rare. Coalbrookdale records this design number 149230 as pattern No. 32 in their castings catalogue of 1875.
