此将军罐为康熙时期标准样式，通体施白釉，净光亮丽。周身通景绘五彩八仙祝寿纹，人物形态各异，场面生动传神，构图疏密有致，纹饰画工细致流畅，画工娴熟，笔意流畅。整体色彩深厚、鲜明、华贵、夺目，用色考究，为罕见的康熙五彩珍品。康熙五彩冠绝一时，为世人所重，画法独特，风格一绝，均令后世难以企及，诚如《匋雅•卷上》所评“康熙彩之颜料，因非后世所常有。论其画手高妙，不但官窑器皿，髣髴王恽，即平常客货，亦莫不出神入化，波澜老成。”如斯情态，由此对罐子即可窥见一二。
