Fine pair of blue and white five lobed jardinieres Chinese, Yongzheng mark and period each lobe decorated with an Indian lotus, issuing with four leafy fronds held within a square frame having indented corners, the outward facing rim decorated above each lobe with scrolling tendrils centralised with a four petal flower head, each vessel with four drainage piercings and supported on five ruyi shaped feet with a linear ruyi head motif and the base with a six character Yongzheng mark in Zhuanshu seal script and of the period, 12cm x 23cm (2) Provenance: Acquired by the current vendor's grandfather in Beijing around the 1930s while working as a junior diplomat Condition: generally the condition is good. There are a few glaze imperfections with one or two very small holes in the glaze, not going all the way through to the other side. There is wear and scratching with age, noticeable inside where they have probably been used as planters.
