A set of eighteen Victorian silver gilt and German porcelain dessert knives and forks by Francis Higgins II, London 1874, the blades with scroll, trophy and flower shaped reserves, the handles painted with figures and flowers, engraved with an unidentified crest beneath a coronet, the knives 20cm (8in) long, in a fitted figured walnut case, 29cm (11 1/2in) long Coronet : Baron, blazon of crest: a Cornish chough The only family that have a Cornish chough as found in the crest are the CORNEWALL family, who were baronets and never barons.
