A LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY TEAK PLANTERS CHAIR. A teak planters chair with elaborately carved frame, the top rail carved with elephants amongst foliage, the extending arms with leg supports decorated with recumbent lions with mouths open and tongues protruding, the seat rail and sides carved with snakes and foliage, the back legs with crocodiles with fish in their mouths, the front legs with further lions. Probably Indian. Provenance: purchased by the vendors parents in the UK some 75 years ago.
