Large ceremonial lidded tankard, German, Halle/Saale, early 18th c., indistinctly hallmarked, maker's mark probably August Hosse (1657-1732), silver hallmarked, predominantly gilded, round domed stand, straight body, laterally. The sides are decorated with leafy vines and figural motifs, putti and a figural scene depicting Psyche seated and flanked by 3 nymphs who are helping her with her morning toilet, a shell cart pulled by putti is ready for collection, overall h. 22 cm, ca. 1818 g
