An oak and walnut press cupboard, incorporating late 17th century elements, 211cm high, 147, 61cm deep Provenance: From the contents of Shirburn Castle, thence by family descent. Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use Old chips and losses to some areas, there are various sections of mitred mouldings that have been detached and are not present with the lot, these appear to have 'darkened' and have presumably been missing for some time. There are signs of woodworm to some of these areas too Some old splits and cracks The metal ware appears to be original throughout and fitted at the time of this pieces last construction (probably circa 1900). There are six slides fitted to the interior The drawers are tight and not running easily - they may benefit from a lubricate, this drawer is very heavy which also impacts this.
