Posthumous, contemporary casting (late 20th/early 21st c.) after the bronze created in 1911. Gutfreund belonged to the most important sculptors of Czech cubism. After first studying sculpture in Prague from 1906-1909, Gutfreund went to Paris in 1909, where he studied with Antoine Bourdelle at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in 1909/10 and met Auguste Rodin. In 1911/12 he created his first independent Cubo-expressionist sculptures and sculptures in Prague; in 1913/14 Gutfreund also applied the principles of analytical Cubism, and in 1913 he participated in the legendary exhibition ''Erster Deutscher Herbstsalon'' at the gallery ''Der Sturm'' in Berlin.
