Ferenc Eisenhut (1857-1903), ''Market in Tanta/Egypt'', animated scene in the morning light. Representative work created in 1886, typical in motif and style of the important Hungarian Oriental painter, who was resident in Munich since his studies 1877-1883 at the Academy of Arts under Gyula Benczúr, Ludwig Löfftz and Wilhelm v. Diez. In 1883/1884 Eisenhut undertook his first trip to the Orient in the Caucasus as far as Baku, after which he traveled from Munich to North Africa and Egypt as well as the Near East. He already became famous for his first Oriental painting ''Healing through the Koran'' from 1883, which Emperor Franz Joseph I. v. Austria acquired for the royal palace in Buda. Oil on wood panel, r. u. signed a. dated 1886 with place Munich. Verso titled on original label, 58 x 45 cm, in original frame ca. 70 x 63 cm.
