Measurements: 3.25in H x 4.125in W x 3.875in D STUNNING, Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong jade plaque on silver inlaid hardwood lidded trinket box. Immaculate hardwood trinket box with inlaid jade medallion insert. Quatre-foiled vessel with fitted cover, topped with elaborate open-works carved jade plaque. The Exterior decorated with intricate design, of scrolling foliate and vine tendrils simulating the Taotie mask of the seeing eyes. Inner flange circumscribed around the containers lip allows for a perfect fitting of the covering and banded with archaic auspicious pattern. The lid framed a thick jade plaque with moist white cream. Raised hardwood retainer outlines the medallion keeping it centered on the casing. The jade plaque decorated with group of deer, Lingzhi fungus, various big three foliage, and flowers blooms. Lingzhi is known as the fungus of immortality and is considered by Daoist mystics to be nourishment for immortals (Xian). Lingzhi is also a symbol of longevity. It's believed that Lingzhi grows in the dwelling of the Immortals and that whoever consumed the hallowed fungus achieved divinity. The under base bear a reign mark, a four gilt script characters reign mark enclosed within a square frame border, Made in The Years of Qianlong Reign Period.
