A SPANISH GILTWOOD AND POLYCHROME PAINTED SIDE OR ALTAR TABLE LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY With associated variegated marble top 98cm high, 123cm wide, 56cm deep Condition Report: The later top has slightly rounded edges, with various chips, knocks, scratches and abrasions. The table has marks, scratches, knocks, chips and abrasions consistent with age, use and materials. There is evidence of old worm overall with both visible holes and some sections that are lacking including a front right top corner. There is some restoration including; the top of the wood table that has a limewash and restoration incorporating some sections of later timber; probably the drawer linings; some supporting sections of edge mouldings; and to the platform base. The polychrome paint overlays the gilding and is flaking, rubbed, chipped and worn to an mellow aged patina. The gilding is in places bright, with some flaking, chips and aging.
