Li Keran (March 26, 1907-December 5, 1989), was born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu. An outstanding painter and poet in modern China, and a disciple of the painter Qi Baishi. Li Keran liked painting since he was a child, and learned to paint landscapes when he was 13 years old. At the age of 43, he was a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. At the age of 49, he traveled and sketched tens of thousands of miles for transforming landscape painting. At the age of 72, he served as the vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association and the dean of the Chinese Painting Research Institute. In old age, pen tends to be old-fashioned. Good at painting landscapes, figures, especially cattle. A native of Xuzhou, Jiangsu. At the age of 13, he studied traditional landscape painting from Xiangxian Qian Shizhi. At the age of 16, he entered the Normal School of Shanghai Private Art College.
