Fu Baoshi (1904~1965), formerly known as Changsheng and Ruilin, the owner of Baoshizhai. Born in Nanchang, Jiangxi, ancestral home is Xinyu, Jiangxi. Modern painter. He studied in Japan in his early years and taught at Chuo University after returning home. After 1949, he served as the professor of Nanjing Normal University and the dean of Jiangsu Academy of Chinese Painting. He is good at painting landscapes and created a "bouldering stone" in his middle-aged age. His brushwork is easy and unrestrained, and he is especially good at making springs, waterfalls, rain and fog. The figure paintings are mostly ladies and seniors, with an ancient image.
