玉蝉以上等白玉琢雕而成，玉质温润，局部镂刻。蝉身丰满，两翼微收，中部厚实，边缘渐落，造型精练。正面之头、目、背、翼，下面之节腹、多足，都如实雕出，玉蝉双翅琢刻线纹，线条细腻，通体打磨细致，口器处有钻孔，用于系带。蝉蜕于浊秽，以浮游尘埃之外，不获世之滋垢，为高洁之体现。整器造型凝练，秀雅写实。
