龙女是神话传说中龙王的女眷，是“二十诸天”中第十九天之婆竭罗龙王（Sagara-nagaraja）的女儿，聪明伶俐，八岁时偶听文殊菩萨在龙宫说《法华经》，豁然觉悟，通达佛法，发菩提心，遂去灵鹫山礼拜佛祖，以人身成就佛陀。后来龙女在文殊师利菩萨的引导下，前往参拜南海观音大士，大士收在座前，与善财童子共同襄佐观音菩萨，救渡娑婆世界苦难众生。龙女像人身龙尾，充满浓郁的神话氛围，龙女身着宽袖长裙，身形窈窕，气度端庄，华美脱俗，龙女的轻柔一览无遗，所配耳铛等佩饰则是简洁而精致。龙身雕刻精湛，左右分别绕圆而上，两相对应，艺术效果突出。整体造型饱满，制工精致，雕琢上注重姿态表情及服饰衣纹等细节的刻画，强调线条自身婉转流动的韵律之感，展现出造像追求唯美写意之风格，可为造像之佳作。
