A LARGE LONGQUAN CELADON-GLAZED 'LOTUS' DISH 15th century The large shallow dish with gently rounded sides rising to an everted rim, carved to the well with a stylised lotus bloom and foliate scrolls, the cavetto with three lotus flowerheads borne on undulating stems, the rim with a wave motif design. 47.5cm (18 3/4in) diam. 注脚 The Property of a Gentleman Provenance: The property of a European family, acquired circa 1900 and thence by descent. Compare with a similar group of Longquan 'lotus' dishes published in Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum: Yuan and Ming Dynasty Celadon Wares, Regia Krahl, Sotheby's Publishing, 1986, pp.306-307, nos. 250-259.
