华士巽，字绎之，无锡荡口镇人，出身望族，继承祖父家业，独资开设宏余、宏绪丝厂，投资申新纱厂、庆丰纱厂、太湖面粉厂。1921年在上海开设养蜂公司，科学养蜂，被誉为“养蜂大王”，人称无锡第一隐富。一生注重家乡教育事业，收集古书画，精鉴别，擅书法，1948年去台北。
