An early 19th century Dutch silver mustard pot, Amsterdam 1803 by Diederik Willem Rethmeyer (1756-1821, master 1785) Of oval form navette form with beaded rim, a hinged high domed lid surmounted by a ball finial, a reeded looped handle. The body with pierced decoration of slats below a band of foliate scrolls edged with bright cut engraved decoration. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked underneath, date letter U, the lid with late 1853-1927 tax mark. Height – 9.4 cm / 3.6 inches Weight – 101 grams / 3.25 ozt
