A late 19th century Dutch silver ‘brandy bowl’, marks obscured possibly Schoonhoven circa 1880 by Herbert Hooijkaas In the 17th century manner, of lobed oval form with cast and applied foliate handles. The centre with an embossed classical scene of Hebe, goddess of youth, pouring nectar into a bowl for the eagle Zeus. The side with chased decoration of stylised acanthus leaves and scrolls. Traces of pseudo marks to the side including a numeral 3. Length – 22.4 cm / 8.85 inches Weight – 304 grams / 9.77 ozt
